Mostar & Kravice Waterfalls

Full day (10-12 hours) · ~300 km round trip · From €285

The Mostar and Kravice Waterfalls day trip is the most popular excursion from Sarajevo, and for good reason. It combines three of Herzegovina's most iconic destinations into a single unforgettable day: the medieval bridge town of Mostar, the thundering Kravice Waterfalls, and the ancient hillside fortress of Pocitelj.

Your private driver picks you up from your Sarajevo accommodation and heads south through the Neretva valley, one of Bosnia's most scenic drives. The road follows the emerald river through dramatic gorges, passing Konjic and Jablanica before descending into the warmer, Mediterranean-influenced climate of Herzegovina.

In Mostar, you will walk across the reconstructed 16th-century Stari Most (Old Bridge), explore the cobbled streets of the old bazaar, and watch the famous bridge divers. After lunch at a riverside restaurant, you continue to the Kravice Waterfalls, a 25-metre-high tufa cascade where you can swim in the natural pools during summer months. The final stop is Pocitelj, a fortified medieval village perched above the Neretva with panoramic views from its hilltop tower.

Frequently asked questions

Can I swim at Kravice Waterfalls?

Yes, swimming is possible from approximately May through September. The natural pools at the base of the falls are refreshing and popular with visitors. Bring a swimsuit and towel. There are changing facilities on site.

Is the itinerary flexible?

Absolutely. This is a private trip, not a group tour. You can spend more time in Mostar and skip Pocitelj, or add a stop in Blagaj to see the Dervish monastery at the river source. Just tell your driver your preferences.

What is the best time of year for this trip?

April through October is ideal. Kravice Waterfalls are most impressive in spring (April-June) when water flow is highest. Summer is best for swimming. The trip is available year-round, though Kravice swimming is seasonal.

How much time do we spend in Mostar?

Typically 2-3 hours, which is enough to cross the bridge, explore the old town, shop in the bazaar, and have lunch. You can request more time if you want to visit the mosque or museums.

Is this trip suitable for children?

Yes. Mostar's old town is fascinating for children, and Kravice Waterfalls is a natural playground. The driving segments are scenic rather than long. Child seats are available free of charge.

What is the price for a larger group?

The base price covers an economy sedan (up to 3 passengers). For 4-7 passengers, a minivan is available at a higher rate. Request a quote through our booking page for exact pricing.
