The route leaves SJJ Airport heading southwest through Ilidza, passing close to the Bosna river springs — one of Sarajevo's most beautiful natural sites. The road then begins to climb, winding through mixed forest as the valley falls away below. Igman's plateau sits at around 1,500 metres, and the transition from city to mountain is remarkably swift.
