SJJ Airport to Mostar transfer
Landing at Sarajevo International Airport and heading straight to Mostar? Our direct private transfer takes you from the arrivals hall to the doorstep of your Mostar accommodation without the detour through Sarajevo city centre. A professional driver meets you at the terminal with a name board, handles your luggage, and drives you south through some of the most spectacular scenery in the Balkans.
At 142 kilometres, this is a comfortable two-and-a-half-hour drive following the Neretva River through deep gorges and past forested mountains. Many travellers visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina fly into Sarajevo but have Mostar as their primary destination — our direct airport transfer makes this journey seamless. No navigating bus schedules, no taxi negotiations, just a clean car and a professional driver waiting for you.
Mostar's UNESCO-listed Old Town, the iconic Stari Most bridge, and the Ottoman bazaars are well worth the journey south. Arriving by private transfer from the airport means you can start exploring the moment you arrive, relaxed and refreshed rather than exhausted from navigating public transport.

PremiumWhat the road looks like
The drive begins at SJJ Airport in the Butmir neighbourhood and heads southwest through Ilidza before joining the M-17 highway. Rather than turning northeast toward Sarajevo centre, the route climbs over the Ivan Sedlo pass at around 960 metres elevation, where pine forests line both sides of the road.
After descending from the pass, you reach the Neretva River valley near Konjic. The road follows the river bank through increasingly dramatic scenery — the Neretva narrows into a steep-walled canyon, its water an extraordinary shade of green-blue. Near Jablanica, the valley opens slightly where a large artificial lake was formed by the hydroelectric dam.
South of Jablanica, the canyon tightens again as you pass through short tunnels carved into the rock face. The final approach to Mostar brings you through the suburbs before the old stone minarets and the gleaming white arc of Stari Most come into view. Your driver will navigate the narrow streets and drop you as close to your accommodation as possible.
What to expect
Your driver will meet you inside the arrivals terminal at SJJ Airport holding a name board. After collecting your luggage from the single baggage carousel, walk through the arrivals doors and look for your name. If your flight is delayed, we track all incoming flights and adjust pickup times automatically.
The vehicle is a comfortable, air-conditioned sedan suitable for up to four passengers with standard luggage. For groups of five to seven, a minivan is available. The boot space accommodates two large suitcases and two cabin bags comfortably.
There are no border crossings on this route as both SJJ Airport and Mostar are within Bosnia and Herzegovina. Restroom stops can be arranged at any point along the route — there are several clean rest areas and cafes along the Neretva valley. Payment can be made in euros, Bosnian convertible marks (BAM), or by credit card.
